Ruyant, Delesne and Schipman on the prototypes podium
Thomas Ruyant on his proto France Faber No. 667, crossed the finish line of The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6,50 on Thursday at 9h18 minutes and 34 seconds - GMT - 11h18 minutes and 34 seconds - French time. Bertrand Delesne wins leg 1 in Funchal
Bertrand Delesne (Entreprendre durablement) won at mid afternoon the first stage of The Charente-Maritime/Bahia Transat 6.50 for the categoty prototype, completing the 1148 miles that separate the Charente-Maritime of Funchal - Madeira Islands - in 6 days, 21 minutes and 21 seconds. Sensational start for the minis in La Rochelle
Weather conditions were ideal. A hot sun had warmed the atmosphere. A wind of 15 knots established northeast blew allowing skippers to take in large majority a reef in the mainsail.
