For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Sailing a 20’ sport cat from Canaria to Guadeloupe in 14 days
Italian sailor Matteo Micelli has accomplished a great record by crossing the Atlantic alone, on a 20’ sport cat, in only 14 days, 17 hours and 52 seconds. He is the SeaSailSurfer of January 2007.
Aboard his 20’ prototype catamaran Micelli has been twice faster than the previous record ! Arrived on January 13 in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), he has realized a time that will be hard to break.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Diane et Ronan jouent du Banjo
Diane et Ronan Gélébart ont participé ensemble à la Mini-Transat 1999. Ensemble ou plutôt en même temps. Ronan avait choisi de traverser l’atlantique sur un prototype, rouge. Diane, quant à elle, avait préféré un Pogo, jaune. Tous deux préparent maintenant un voilier pour de longues croisières, en double ! -

Il était 18h20 (heure française) hier soir, lorsque Assa Abloy a franchi en vainqueur, sous spi et grand voile haute, la ligne d’arrivée de la troisième étape de la Volvo Ocean Race 2001-2002. Un succès qui couronne une très belle première partie d’étape, puisque l’équipage suédois avait également remporté la Sydney-Hobart, quelques jours (…) -

What a fantastic day for the kiwis on ASSA ABLOY, to win Leg 3 of the Volvo Ocean Race into Auckland. New Zealanders, Richard Mason and Stu Wilson were heroes along with the rest of the crew of ASSA ABLOY, to the early morning cheering crowd, as they entered Viaduct Basin, after they had crossed the finish line. -
