Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Sailing a 20’ sport cat from Canaria to Guadeloupe in 14 days
Italian sailor Matteo Micelli has accomplished a great record by crossing the Atlantic alone, on a 20’ sport cat, in only 14 days, 17 hours and 52 seconds. He is the SeaSailSurfer of January 2007.
Aboard his 20’ prototype catamaran Micelli has been twice faster than the previous record ! Arrived on January 13 in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), he has realized a time that will be hard to break.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Les images du départ de la 10e édition de la Route du Rhum
A 14h00, dans un vent de sud-sud-ouest d’une quinzaine de nœuds et sous un ciel très contrasté, les 91 concurrents de la Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe, étalés sur une ligne de départ longue de 4 km, se sont élancés au milieu de plusieurs centaines de bateaux spectateurs. Cap sur la Guadeloupe, après 3542 milles de navigation. -
