For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Sailing a 20’ sport cat from Canaria to Guadeloupe in 14 days
Italian sailor Matteo Micelli has accomplished a great record by crossing the Atlantic alone, on a 20’ sport cat, in only 14 days, 17 hours and 52 seconds. He is the SeaSailSurfer of January 2007.
Aboard his 20’ prototype catamaran Micelli has been twice faster than the previous record ! Arrived on January 13 in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), he has realized a time that will be hard to break.

As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

La question peut surprendre. En quoi le vélo de Franck Cammas qui lui permet, à bord du trimaran de 31,50 mètres Groupama 3, de se servir de la puissance de ses jambes pour monter sa grand-voile, pourrait-il bien être… illégal ? Et bien, tout simplement, parce que les règles de course de voile définies par l’ISAF interdisent tout autre action (…) -

Antoine Delpero vice champion du monde 2010
Le surfer hawaiien de 333 ans, Duane DeSoto, vient de remporter l’Oxbow ASP World Longboard Championship. Il s’est imposé en finale devant le Français Antoine Delpero. Il remporte ainsi son premier titre mondial sur le spot de Makaha alors que cela fait 17 ans qu’il écume le circuit mondial de longboard. -

Sidney Gavignet : " le bateau s’est couché à la verticale"
Hier, mercredi 3 novembre, à 16h48 CET (GMT+1), Sidney Gavignet a déclenché sa balise de détresse, bras de liaison tribord, flotteur et mât cassés. Une avarie grave survenu à quelques 250 milles des Açores alors que Oman Air Majan occupait la 5e place du classement et progressait à 18-20 nœuds au près dans une mer peu formée. -

Franck Cammas file tout schuss sous les Açores
Après trois jours de course, les écarts se sont encore creusés entre Franck Cammas (Groupama 3) qui caracole en tête dans la flotte des multicoques Ultimes et Armel Le Cleac’h (Brit Air) en monocoques 60 pieds qui continue sur une route plus au nord à mener la danse face à Roland Jourdain (Veolia environnement ).
