Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

2007 ASP world tour champ : Americans Kelly Slater and Andy Irons have monopolized the World Title for the last five years but Fanning’s win makes him the first Australian to clinch a men’s ASP World Title since Mark ‘Occy” Occhilupo did so in Brazil in 1999.
Fanning made his Foster’s ASP World Tour debut in 2002 after finishing No. 1 in the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) the year prior. An impressive 5th place finish his first year on the elite tour earned him highest rookie result of all time, an honor he now shares with 2006 Rookie of the Year, Bobby Martinez (USA). Fanning’s six-year professional career has seen him make a steady ascent to the No. 1 position he held for the entirety of the 2007 season. After a 5th place debut in 2002, Fanning finished World No. 4 in 2003, World No. 3 in 2005 and 2006 and World No. 1 today. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December. -

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

BENNETT Alex
Du mini au 50 pieds, en passant par une aventure extraordinaire à bord d’un catamaran hors normes, l’anglais Alex Bennett est passé en deux années de la filière école à la filière professionnelle. Il vient d’ailleurs d’acheter le monocoque jaune de 50 pieds Aqua Quorum pour s’aligner sur la Transat Jacques Vabre et préparer la Route du Rhum 2002. -

Assa Abloy timed her finish to perfection to win line honours in the 57th CYCA Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race when she slipped across the finish line in full view of a huge crowd on a busy Saturday morning at just before 10 am local time. -

Le maxi-catamaran Orange a été mis à l’eau lundi veille de Noël et achève en ce moment sa phase de préparation technique au chantier de La Ciotat. Il naviguera pour la première fois demain dans les eaux méditerranéennes afin de réaliser ses premiers essais en mer.
