Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.
SeaSailSurfer of november : Mike Fanning
2007 ASP world tour champ : Americans Kelly Slater and Andy Irons have monopolized the World Title for the last five years but Fanning’s win makes him the first Australian to clinch a men’s ASP World Title since Mark ‘Occy” Occhilupo did so in Brazil in 1999.
Fanning made his Foster’s ASP World Tour debut in 2002 after finishing No. 1 in the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) the year prior. An impressive 5th place finish his first year on the elite tour earned him highest rookie result of all time, an honor he now shares with 2006 Rookie of the Year, Bobby Martinez (USA). Fanning’s six-year professional career has seen him make a steady ascent to the No. 1 position he held for the entirety of the 2007 season. After a 5th place debut in 2002, Fanning finished World No. 4 in 2003, World No. 3 in 2005 and 2006 and World No. 1 today. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December. -

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…) -

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Tanguy de Lamotte l’emporte à Saint Nazaire en IMOCA devant Armel Tripon
Dans la catégorie des monocoques 60 pieds, c’est donc Tanguy de Lamotte et ses équipiers (Initiatives-Coeur) qui l’ont emporté, devant Armel Tripon et ses collègues régatiers, deuxièmes avec Imagine. Le catamaran Multi 2000 Restabern de Jean-Christophe Lair a lui terminé premier sur le parcours de 180 milles. -

Loïc Féquet a mené son trimaran à la première place du Record SNSM
Le Team Maître Jacques est le premier des concurrents du Record SNSM. Loïc et son équipe d’amis-régatiers constituée de Benjamin Amiot, Malo Bessec et Arnaud Le Gall, ont mis 20h 11mn 52s pour parcourir les 230 milles de ce parcours 2014. La météo, trop clémente pour permettre de décrocher des temps records, n’a cependant pas empêché le team (…) -

L’Antibiose Céline Guesdon réalise le doublé sur la Coupe de France de Bandol
La N.6 mondiale des championnats du monde ISA en mai dernier a remporté les deux épreuves (beach et longue distance) de la Coupe de France de Bandol, ce week-end. Gabriel Bachelet s’impose sur le 5 km messieurs et Didier Leneil sur le 10 km. -

Mini Fastnet : Quentin Vlamynck et Loïc Coudret remportent le prologue
Une fois n’est pas coutume, c’est un bateau de série, et mené par un duo de presque-bizuths, qui l’emporte au scratch ! Quentin Vlamynck et Loïc Coudret (quentinvlamynck.fr - Série 728) ont été les premiers à couper la ligne d’arrivée du prologue du Mini Fastnet. C’est à 12h30, jeudi 19 juin, que le "Ptit jaune", comme l’appelle avec amusement Loïck Peyron son propriétaire et skipper. Après 24 heures, 35 minutes et 56 secondes de navigation, Esimit Europa 2 a passé la ligne d’arrivée de la Giraglia Rolex Cup pour la 4e fois en tête à 12h 35min 56sec CET, faisant de cette performance son jubilé puisque c’est la 30e fois consécutive que le bateau termine premier sur une ligne d’arrivée. -
