Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.
SeaSailSurfer of september : Isabelle Joschke
She has won the first leg of the 2007 Mini-Transat : Who can beat Isabelle Joschke ? The answer will come in Bahia at the end of the second leg. But during the first one, no one could sail faster. She won this leg one from La Rochelle to Funchal in Madeira and she is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

This year, Isabelle and her Finot-Coq prototype mini has won two races. She let the others to Le Blévec, Laureyssens and Caracci. But in the first leg, she was the best ! She took the lead at the end of the first day before perfectly rounding cape Finisterra. Then she sailed uneder the direct route to get more wind and more speed. She finished in Funchal 4h20 ahead of Manuard, 5h15 ahead of Le Blévec and 10 hours ahead of Deshayes. Well done ! Now she has to control her competitors in the long second leg toward Brazil. To be the first woman to win the Mini-Transat and to enter in the small list of women to have won a solo transtlantic race.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Yann Guichard : "Je suis ravi de terminer sur la 2e marche"
Ce lundi 10 novembre à 19 heures 18 minutes et 46 secondes, Yann Guichard a franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 10e Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe. Le skipper de Spindrift 2 a mis 8 jours 5 heures 18 minutes et 46 secondes pour boucler le parcours théorique de 3542 milles à la vitesse moyenne de 17,95 nœuds. -

Route du Rhum : 2e victoire pour le Maxi Solo Banque Populaire (ex-Groupama 3)
Maxi Solo Banque Populaire, le trimaran de 31 mètres avec lequel Loïck Peyron a remporté la Route du Rhum n’est autre que l’ancien Groupama de Franck Cammas. En équipage, le trimaran vert a détenu le Trophée Jules Verne. En solo avec sa version gréement court et vélo embarqué, Franck Cammas a remporté la précédente Route du Rhum. -

Ce lundi 10 novembre à 05h 08 mn 32 s, Loïck Peyron a franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 10e Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe. Le skipper du Maxi Solo Banque Populaire VII a mis 07 jours 15 heures 8 minutes et 32 secondes pour boucler le parcours de 3542 milles (théorique) à la vitesse moyenne de 19,34 nœuds. -

Arthur Arutkin a dominé Titouan Puyo et Martin Letourneur pour un 2e titre en Sup technique
Il n’a que dix-sept ans mais un talent fou ! Arthur Arutkin a archi dominé la 5e édition des championnats de France de Stand Up Paddle race, ce week-end à Quiberon. Vainqueur de la Longue distance, en Baie de Quiberon samedi, il a remporté la course technique ce dimanche. En Open et en espoirs pour quatre titre en deux jours ! -

Arthur Arutkin champion de France de SUP longue distance à 17 ans
A seulement 17 ans, le Nordiste Arthur Arutkin est devenu champion de France de longue distance, ce samedi à la Trinité sur Mer. Particulièrement exigeant, technique et très physique, le parcours a entamé le peloton de 120 participants, même si 94 ont rallié l’arrivée après 13 km de course avec un fort vent de travers. -

Elie Canivenc : "Le chantier commencera dans une dizaine de jours"
La priorité aujourd’hui est de convoyer Sodebo Ultim’ par la mer jusqu’à Lorient où il entrera en chantier pour commencer rapidement la réparation de la coque centrale et celle du flotteur endommagé. Un team de spécialistes de la stratification est sur place à Roscoff (Bretagne Nord), s’activant pour étanchéifier les deux coques blessées.
