Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Third times winner of the Solitaire Afflelou Le Figaro : One Vendée Globe, one Route du Rhum, one OSTAR and… three Solitaire ! Mich’Desj, "The Professor" has signed a big schelem in solo offshore racing. And this winter he won again the Solitaire ahead of Duthil and Douguet.
We knew he has the best rangings of the world of solo offshore racing, now he is at the top of the Solitaire rankings. He counts three wins such have done before him Jean Le Cam and Philippe Poupon. Hi just misses Around alone and the Mini-Transat. A race he won years ago… the second leg "only" at the heml of the first offshore racing boat with a canting keel.
At 42 years old, Desjoyeaux is still young even he has begin racing with late Eric Tabarly in the Withbread. At the helm of a one design boat of a prototype, of a multihull or a monohull, Michel has won lots of race. And we will find him again in the next Vendée Globe entry list, at the helm of a new Farr designed Open 60…

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

La 30e édition de la Biarritz Quiksilver Maïder Arostéguy présentée par Optical Center s’est achevée le lundi de Pâques avec de très bonnes conditions car les vagues étaient de qualité et ont permis aux catégories Open (Garons et Filles) de nous montrer toute l’étendue de leur talent. -

On Saturday morning, Hi Fi became the third boat to complete the 565-nm course from Hong Kong to Subic Bay, The Philippines following a dramatic tussle with a group of yachts, most notably Bryon Ehrhart’s TP52 Lucky from the United States. Alex Schaerer won the Maxi class in St. Barth
With several classes still up for grabs, crews going into the final day of racing at Les Voiles de St. Barth were eager to get on the race course and best the score. The conditions remained fresh, with a 22 – 25 knot southeasterly producing an impressive swell on the island’s windward side. -
