For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Third times winner of the Solitaire Afflelou Le Figaro : One Vendée Globe, one Route du Rhum, one OSTAR and… three Solitaire ! Mich’Desj, "The Professor" has signed a big schelem in solo offshore racing. And this winter he won again the Solitaire ahead of Duthil and Douguet.
We knew he has the best rangings of the world of solo offshore racing, now he is at the top of the Solitaire rankings. He counts three wins such have done before him Jean Le Cam and Philippe Poupon. Hi just misses Around alone and the Mini-Transat. A race he won years ago… the second leg "only" at the heml of the first offshore racing boat with a canting keel.
At 42 years old, Desjoyeaux is still young even he has begin racing with late Eric Tabarly in the Withbread. At the helm of a one design boat of a prototype, of a multihull or a monohull, Michel has won lots of race. And we will find him again in the next Vendée Globe entry list, at the helm of a new Farr designed Open 60…

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Le surfer hawaiien de 333 ans, Duane DeSoto, vient de remporter l’Oxbow ASP World Longboard Championship. Il s’est imposé en finale devant le Français Antoine Delpero. Il remporte ainsi son premier titre mondial sur le spot de Makaha alors que cela fait 17 ans qu’il écume le circuit mondial de longboard.

Hier, mercredi 3 novembre, à 16h48 CET (GMT+1), Sidney Gavignet a déclenché sa balise de détresse, bras de liaison tribord, flotteur et mât cassés. Une avarie grave survenu à quelques 250 milles des Açores alors que Oman Air Majan occupait la 5e place du classement et progressait à 18-20 nœuds au près dans une mer peu formée.
