Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Multi recordman on the Atlantic with New York - Lizard in less than 100 hours : Cammas or Bertarelli ? Groupama or Alinghi ? Proffit or Butterworth ? A choice was necessary… The SeaSailSurfer of July 2007 is the new recordman of the Atlantic crossing… in less than 100 hours.
Franck Cammas made a success of his bet. At the helm of its giant trimaran (32 meters long), the Mediterranean made a success of its American tour by beating the records Cadiz – San Salvador, Miami – Ney York and the prestigious New – York – Lizard cape, the famous Atlantic record.
Cammas thus aligns his name under those of Charlie Barr, Eric Tabarly, Philippe Poupon and lately Bruno Peyron… Lastly, cherry on the cake (french : "cerise sur le gâteau"), he nearly covered 800 miles in 24 hours and took down the high score in the category of the better distance covered in a day long. His next goal is now the Trophy Jules Verne this winter… Make your bets !

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Alors que tout restait à faire les concurrents ont dû affronter des conditions sélectives. En effet plus qu’un vent soufflant à 17 nœuds dans les claques, c’est le clapot légèrement formé qui rendait très techniques les dernières courses de l’Eurocat. Le M20 de Sunnucks & Etanen remporte le raid
Ils étaient 263 sur une seule et même ligne à s’élancer pour cette longue distance à 11h17 samedi. Dans un vent de 12 nœuds mollissant et tournant qui a mis à rude épreuve les nerfs des compétiteurs. Groupama 4 a rejoint Lorient
Samedi matin, à 6h45, Groupama 4 a quitté le chantier Multiplast à Vannes. Après un convoi routier, le nouveau Volvo Open 70 de Franck Cammas est arrivé à 9h30 à la base Groupama sailing team de Lorient où toute l’équipe l’attendait avec impatience. -

This Saturday morning, at 0545 GMT, Groupama 4 left the Multiplast yard in Vannes, SW Brittany. After a delivery by road, Franck Cammas’ new Volvo Open 70 arrived at Groupama Sailing Team’s base in nearby Lorient at 0830 hours, a moment the whole team had been looking forward to. -
