Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.
SeaSailSurfer of July 2007 : Franck Cammas
Multi recordman on the Atlantic with New York - Lizard in less than 100 hours : Cammas or Bertarelli ? Groupama or Alinghi ? Proffit or Butterworth ? A choice was necessary… The SeaSailSurfer of July 2007 is the new recordman of the Atlantic crossing… in less than 100 hours.
Franck Cammas made a success of his bet. At the helm of its giant trimaran (32 meters long), the Mediterranean made a success of its American tour by beating the records Cadiz – San Salvador, Miami – Ney York and the prestigious New – York – Lizard cape, the famous Atlantic record.
Cammas thus aligns his name under those of Charlie Barr, Eric Tabarly, Philippe Poupon and lately Bruno Peyron… Lastly, cherry on the cake (french : "cerise sur le gâteau"), he nearly covered 800 miles in 24 hours and took down the high score in the category of the better distance covered in a day long. His next goal is now the Trophy Jules Verne this winter… Make your bets !

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Choc sur une étrave de Sodebo
A 16h40 heure française, Thomas Coville a senti un choc sans incidence directe sur la route du bateau. Quand il est sorti pour évaluer le contexte, il a découvert que la peau de la crash box [1] située à l’avant du flotteur tribord était partie, sans doute à la suite d’un choc avec un globicéphale. -

Dick & Peyron encore en tête au Cap Horn
J+62. Malgré deux escales techniques, Virbac-Paprec 3 a passé ce jeudi le Cap Horn en tête de la Barcelona World Race à 11h20 (heure française) après 61 jours et 20 heures de course. Depuis le départ de Barcelone, Jean-Pierre Dick et Loïck Peyron ont passé les trois grands caps (Bonne Espérance, Leeuwin et Horn) en leader de la flotte.
