Rookie and surfing world champ

For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup with Emirates Team NZL : Called to the rescue of the Kiwi challenger in 2003, the New Zealander, 50 years last July 1st, managed to fill its first contract. While winning the Louis Vuitton Cup, the loosing Defender of the 31th edition of the Cup signed its come-back against Alinghi for the match of the 32e America’s Cup… A spirit of revenge in the air. Mission accomplished ?
To replace Peter Blake then Russel Coutts, it was necessary for Kiwis to find somebody who would not fear of the comparison with his great predecessors. Winner in his past offshore career of the Whitbread 1981-82, and of The Race in 2001 (between others), Dalton came to carry his offshore experiment to the very specific field of the match-racing for this 32nd America’s Cup. And the least that one can say is that he reached that (firts) goal. Dalton is the man of June 2007.

Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December. -

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Le M34 Groupama a terminé en beauté l’édition 2014 de la semaine de la voile normande tout comme le J80 Interface Concept. CVSAE 2 monte sur la plus haute marche du podium en First Class 7.5. Dunkerque Plaisance en IRC 1-2 et Pinguin Playboy en IRC 3-4 sortent en vainqueurs d’une lutte de tous les instants. -

Pepe Ribes and Ryan Breymaier won the IMOCA Ocean Masters New York to Barcelona race
The Spanish-American duo won the race in a time of 14 days 2 hours 44 minutes and 30 seconds. However looking at how tired they were and the relentless events that unfolded for them over the last fortnight, one might have got the impression they had been at sea racing non-stop for a month or more. -

La paire Américano-Espagnole a remporté la course en 14 jours 2 heures 44 minutes et 30 secondes. Cependant, à en juger par leurs mines éreintées et les épreuves incessantes auxquelles ils ont dû faire face au cours de ces deux semaines, on aurait pu penser que la course avait duré un mois voire plus. -

Cette 76e édition du Bol d’Or Mirabaud, courue par une bise soutenue et sous un soleil radieux, a permis à Laydcat powered by Spindrift de marquer cette course de son empreinte. Dona Bertarelli et son équipage ont fait preuve d’une parfaite maitrise technique tout au long de la régate (…) -

1 day, 5 hours, 58 minutes were not enough to Giancarlo Pedote and Prysmian to beat the record marked last year, but were sufficient to give Giancarlo the fourth victory of the year. -
