On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of march 2008 : Antoine Albeau
New speed sailing record holder with 49.09 knots. On march 5th, the french funboarder realised the best speed over 500 meters. In Les Saintes Maries de la Mer, in the South of France, Albeau was close to beark the 50 knots barrier. So close with 49.09 knots…
Antoine Albeau, 36 yo, 1.85 meter, 95 kg, professionnal since 1992, is a beginner in speed record. For a long time he was away from the 500 meters long runs as he was competing in the world championship circuit where he got many titles. Now he has decided to come to the speed circuit and during the 2008 Master of Speed, it has been a great success.
With 49.09 knots, A.A. is now the faster sailor of the world over 500 m. But will he be able to beak the 50 knots soonly ? that’s certainly possible. If the kites and foilers do not break it before him…

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…) -

As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

The CNBPP will organize from May 1st to 5th the second edition of the Select 650. This race did take the place of the 300 miles of Concarneau this year. The minis and their single handing skippers will leave again La Baule for a 300 miles long course away form the coast of South Brittany. -

Le CNBPP a programmé pour sa saison 2002 une deuxième édition de la Select 650. Les minis menés en solitaire prendront donc à nouveau le départ d’une course de 300 milles environ au départ de La Baule. Cette course se déroulera du 1er au 5 mai prochain. -

Parti le 19 septembre dernier de Manhattan, le trimaran de 53 pieds Great American II vient d’arriver en Australie. Il a franchit la ligne d’arrivée mouillée devant le Royal Yacht Club of Victoria. Il était 13h29 mardi après midi (heure australienne). -

A finish gun fired from the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria at 1:29 PM today signaled a new sailing record from New York City to Melbourne. The 53-foot trimaran Great American II completed the 15,000-mile voyage to Australia in 68 days 10 hours 7 minutes 52 seconds, breaking a record that had stood for 146 years. -

The SeaSailSurfer of the month has won the two-handed transatlantic from Le Havre to Salvador de Bahia. He is from Switzerland and is nearly 33 years old : Stève Ravussin was Franck Cammas crew aboard the 60’ trimaran Groupama. -
