From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.

Silver medallist in the RX :X Class at Qingdao Olympics : French boardsailor came in 2004 to the olympic Games with the world title in the pocket. But hi missed his regatta and finished 9th in Athens. Four years after, he got his ticket again to compete in Qingdao and came back to France with the Silver medal.
« A silver medal in the Olympic Games is greatest than any world title » said 29 yo RS :X boardsailor. « The feeling is so great than it is extraordinay to go and sail for a medal what ever is its color. This represents so much work… and I don’t think I will stop after that. Olympics is so great ! ». Now Bontemps has taken Faustine Merret’s place as leader of the French olympic team. And he has work to do to compter the Brits in 2012…

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Just a year ago, Franck Cammas and his nine crew capsized 80 miles off New Zealand following the breakage of Groupama 3s port float. 24 hours ahead of the reference time set by the current Jules Verne Trophy record holder when the incident occurred, the crew was airlifted to safety by helicopter before heading back to the zone to rescue Groupama 3. -

Marc Guillemot : "Sans la quille, c’est moins tressant"
Marc Guillemot n’a pas réussi à circonscrire complètement son problème de quille qui s’est déplacée dans son puits, au point que la mer a finalement eu raison du système de brélage réalisé par le solitaire pour sécuriser le bateau. Marc Guillemot : "I really want to finish"
A keel problem which has been worrying Marc Guillemot since the Azores, deteriorated yesterday. After attempting to make a temporary fix securing the keel head with ropes to stop it slipping out of the boat, the skipper reported this afternoon that he was almost relieved to report that his keel has dropped out of the boat. -
