From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.

Silver medallist in the RX :X Class at Qingdao Olympics : French boardsailor came in 2004 to the olympic Games with the world title in the pocket. But hi missed his regatta and finished 9th in Athens. Four years after, he got his ticket again to compete in Qingdao and came back to France with the Silver medal.
« A silver medal in the Olympic Games is greatest than any world title » said 29 yo RS :X boardsailor. « The feeling is so great than it is extraordinay to go and sail for a medal what ever is its color. This represents so much work… and I don’t think I will stop after that. Olympics is so great ! ». Now Bontemps has taken Faustine Merret’s place as leader of the French olympic team. And he has work to do to compter the Brits in 2012…

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Le SeaSailSurfer d’octobre 2008 a réussi son exploit le 3 octobre. Et quel exploit ! Le kitesurfer en compétition en Namibie a explosé la barre des 50 nœuds de vitesse moyenne propulsé par une voile sur un parcours homologué de 500 mètres. -

Torben Grael s’impose à Le Cap en 21 jours
C’est à 6h54 (heure Paris), que le VO 70 Ericsson 4 a franchi la ligne d’arrivée de Cape Town. Le chantier de réparation du monocoque Hugo Boss d’Alex Thomson est terminé. L’équipe anglaise travaillait ce matin à la préparation de l’espar alors que le voilier a retrouvé sa quille et doit être mis à l’eau dans l’après-midi. Forcément, Bernard Gergaud n’a rien raté.
