SeaSailSurfer of December 2008 : Michel Desjoyeaux
From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of July 2008 : Thomas Coville
New holder of the transatlantic record : At the helm of the giant trimarna Sodeb’O, Thomas Coville has beaten the Solo Transatlantic record. In 5 days 19 hours and 29 minutes, he makes better than Francis Joyon by 7 hours and a half.
Multihuls live a new aera. 50 feet ones are growing. 60’ ones have disappeared. Now multihulls go bigger with Franck Cammas and Pascal Bidegorry girants for crew records. In the single handing scene, Francis Joyon and Thomas Coville show the way of the futures generations of trimarans. From New York to Cape Lizard, Coville has done better than Joyon. He has now to do better around the world…

689 votes made the SeaSailsurfers of 2010. The male winner is Thomas Ruyant, winner of the Route du Rhum in Class40. He did it one year after his win in the solo Transat 650. On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

C’est à 3h, heure française, ce matin, (soit 13h heure locale), que les huit bateaux engagés dans la Volvo Ocean Race 2001-2002 se sont élancés pour une troisième étape de 2 050 milles, divisée en deux temps. -

Today, in the early morning coolness, Darling Harbour, Sydney, was a hive of activity as the crews starting leg three of the Volvo Ocean Race made their final preparations and bade their last farewells. -
