From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of July 2008 : Thomas Coville
New holder of the transatlantic record : At the helm of the giant trimarna Sodeb’O, Thomas Coville has beaten the Solo Transatlantic record. In 5 days 19 hours and 29 minutes, he makes better than Francis Joyon by 7 hours and a half.
Multihuls live a new aera. 50 feet ones are growing. 60’ ones have disappeared. Now multihulls go bigger with Franck Cammas and Pascal Bidegorry girants for crew records. In the single handing scene, Francis Joyon and Thomas Coville show the way of the futures generations of trimarans. From New York to Cape Lizard, Coville has done better than Joyon. He has now to do better around the world…

689 votes made the SeaSailsurfers of 2010. The male winner is Thomas Ruyant, winner of the Route du Rhum in Class40. He did it one year after his win in the solo Transat 650. On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Après une journée de transition au cours de laquelle le vent a joué à cache-cache avec les nuages obligeant le comité de course à revoir ses prévisions à la baisse dans sa quête de résultat officiel d’une épreuve de Freestyle, cette quatrième journée de compétition du « Bouygues Telecom – Rip Curl Funboard Tour 2002 » démarre sous de meilleurs (…) -

La Solitaire, le film !
1691 milles aux détours de la Manche, de la Mer Celtique, du golfe de Gascogne. Un parcours équilibré à base de parcours côtiers « pas cotons » et de large en long. Du petit temps à forte dose et de la brise en quelques rasades. Des solitaires hors-pair qui se sont disputés les honneurs jusqu’au bout. Quatre vainqueurs d’étape et la victoire au (…) -

Kito de Pavant rejoint les Champions
En inscrivant, hier à Cherbourg, son nom au palmarès de la Solitaire du Figaro, Kito de Pavant gagne son ticket pour le XIIIe Trophée Clairefontaine, qui débutera jeudi prochain à La Trinité-sur-Mer. Il rejoint ainsi : Loïck Peyron, Ellen MacArthur (GB), Michel Desjoyeaux (vainqueur en titre), Randy Smyth (E-U), Franck Cammas, Roland "Bilou" (…) -

Christophe De Pavant, vainqueur de la Solitaire du Figaro
Troisième participation et première victoire, Christophe "Kito" De Pavant a remporté la Solitaire du Figaro 2002 devant un des plateaux les plus relevés et les plus homogènes que la course n’aie connu en 33 éditions. Cette victoire, pourtant incontestable, fait de Kito le SeaSailSurfer du mois d’août 2002 ! -

Du vent, du soleil et du beau Windsurf dans le Nord
Après une éprouvante première journée de compétition le « Bouygues Telecom – Rip Curl Funboard Tour 2002 » s’est réveillé jeudi matin sous un beau soleil et une mer très calme. La météo annonce quand même un vent d’ouest sud-ouest force 2 à 4 pour l’après midi, mais pour l’heure c’est plutôt ambiance automnale avec une belle rosée matinale. -

It is thanks to his regularity that Kito De Pavant takes all the laurels at Cherbourg-Octeville.
