SeaSailSurfer of December 2008 : Michel Desjoyeaux
From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of April 2008 : Claire Leroy
Double winner of the women worlds match-racing title : On April 6th, Claire Leroy and Marie Riou, Elodie Bertrand and Claire Pruvot won the women match-racing world title in New Zealand. For the second time in two years. She is the SeaSailSurfer of April 2008.
Breton sailor is used with podiums. Last year she won both world and european titles. She was also named Rolex Sailor of the World by the ISAF. This year she looks to be on the same course with a new world title. And she is ready for more as, after her world title, she said « we are waiting for the ISAF to know if women match-racing will be in the Olympic Games in 2012. If yes, it will become my main objective. » We hope so.

689 votes made the SeaSailsurfers of 2010. The male winner is Thomas Ruyant, winner of the Route du Rhum in Class40. He did it one year after his win in the solo Transat 650. And he is so popular he wins the title of SeaSailSurfer of the year ahead of the funboarder Antoine Albeau (Sailor of the year for the french federation) and ahead of (…) -

Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December. -

Don’t you have a feeling of dejà-vu ? Thomas Ruyant, hands up, with his fetish hat, arriving as a winner in a solo race ? Transat 650 2009 ? Yes. One yer after his win in the Mini-Transat, he has won the Route du Rhum. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…) -

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Près de huit cent personnes ont participé au vote de SeaSailSurf.com à propos du partenariat entre le Défi Français pour la Coupe de l’America 2003 et le groupe Areva, conglomérat du nucléaire français. Au final, seulement 54% pour des votants soutiennent encore les navigateurs français. Un désaveu ? -

Des vainqueurs d’étape qui pointent leur étrave de l’ombre et de la lumière, des favoris qui s’écroulent, un premier de cordée au classement général qui en impose de régularité… (…) -

Le duo Bekatorou et Tsoulfa proche de la médaille d’or
Sophia Bekatorou et Emilia Tsoulfa, le « duo » grec médaillé d’or en 470 continue à faire grande impression dans la Rencontre Pré-Olympique de Voile qui se tient à Agios Kosmas. Elles ont remporté la 7e course d’aujourd’hui, creusant ainsi l’écart qui les sépare des autres équipages. -

Charles the first, King of Spain
In the last 24 hours, he took command of the fleet. Charles Caudrelier Benac (Bostik Findley), second last year into Gijon, held on well in the closing stages despite being deprived of wind.
