Tanguy de Lamotte belongs to those who believed in Class40 from the beginning. He is rewarded for his efforts since he won, with Adrien Hardy, the first edition of the Solidaire du Chocolat.
SeaSailSurfer of October : Thomas Ruyant
Winner of the 2009 Transat 650
Thomas Ruyant, 3rd of leg 1 of the 2009 Transat 650 has won the second leg from Funchal to Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, to be the winner overall of the solo transatlantic in the prototype division. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month !
The 28 yo skipper from Dunkerque, in the north of France, was entering for the second time in the famous "Mini-Transat". 23rd two years ago, he was helming since 2008 the Finot-Conq design built for Isabelle Joschke (winner of leg 1 two years ago).
Ruynat built his win in the doldrums when he took a clear advantage over his main opponents. Then he run toward Brazil finishing 6 hours ahead of Bertrand Delesne, winner of leg one from who he was3 hours late.
Next year, Thomas Ruyant should be entering the professional Figro-Bénéteau circuit. He will join the past mini skippers such as past winner Armel Tripon, and competitors of the 2007 edition, Isabelle Joschke and Adrien Hardy.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…)

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Vendredi était le dernier jour de compétition du Championnat du Monde I14. Les concurrents ont eu une très belle journée de navigation, assez similaire à la veille. Sur l’eau il y avait un grand soleil et du vent d’ouest entre 10 et 14 nœuds, parfait pour terminer la compétition en beauté.
