Tanguy de Lamotte belongs to those who believed in Class40 from the beginning. He is rewarded for his efforts since he won, with Adrien Hardy, the first edition of the Solidaire du Chocolat.

The winner of leg 1 and second overall of Transat 650 : September was rich in events. PYM and Benoit achieved their crossing from New York to Lorient, the 60 feet fleet joined Brest from Istanbul, Class 40 covered 1000 miles, Multi 50 launched three new boats… as for the man the month, he illustrated himself on Charente Maritime Bahia Transat 650.
His double victory of both legs in Les Sables - the Azores in 2008 had impressed everybody. But “the protos were not ready” they said… The “level was not high”… However, Francisco Lobato nerly did the same in the leg 1 of the Transat 650 as he finished second and dominated the race leading the leg at the helm of his Pogo2, a one-designed mini.
This time, there are still excuses : “the skippers of proto slowed down not to break”, “they awaited the 2nd stage to accelerate”, “the sea was strong and prevented the protos from going quicker than the series”, etc. If most were true indeed, everyone admits that the Portuguese was the best skipper from La Rochelle to Madeira.
Francisco Lobato is the man of September 2009. He was also SeaSailSurfer of the year 2008. Going for a double win ?

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

A 12 h 39’07’’ Bobst Group/Armor Lux a franchi le premier la ligne d’arrivée de la quatrième étape d’Around Alone entre Tauranga et Bahia via le Cap Horn... et une escale aux Malouines.

Vendredi 7 mars, le mini de Tanguy Delamotte a quitté le chantier FR Nautisme de Lorient où il a été construit. Posé sur la remorque d’un camion, il a pris la destination de Marseille. Cap au sud avec des objectifs en urgence pour son skipper / architecte / constructeur : se qualifier pour la Transat 650 2003 !

Le trimaran aux couleurs de Cap Gemini et Schneider Electric remonte toujours vers le Nord à bonne vitesse, malgré un alizé toujours paresseux d’environ 12 nœuds.

Geronimo est repassé devant son adversaire virtuel au pointage de ce matin. En effet, à 3 heures TU, Il se trouvait à 1503 milles du way-point situé à 35° de latitude Nord et 36° de longitude Ouest (Sud-Ouest des Açores), alors qu’au même jour Orange se trouvait à 1590 milles de ce même point. Soit 87 milles d’avance théorique.

Canadian skipper Derek Hatfield reported in at 16:53GMT on 7th March to Around Alone Race HQ that his Open 40 boat Spirit of Canada had just been dismasted at 55 48 S 66 12 W, 30 miles to the ENE of Cape Horn.
