SeaSailSurfer of August 2009 : Lux, Geyer-Barneix and Manciet
Three Paddle board girls of the Atlantic : Alexandra Lux, Stéphanie Geyer-Barneix and Flora Manciet are three paddle board girls. This summer, they have crossed the Atlantic from Cape Breton to CapBreton in south-west of France. And they made the exploit in 53 days only.
August was charged in high level events. Initially, there was the band of Bidégorry which made an Atlantic crossing express aboard the 40 meters long trimaran Banque Populaire V. There also was the superb victory of Nicolas Lunven over the legendary Solitaire du Figaro.
But the SeaSailSurf’ girls of this month are quite different of these sporting events. Their performance holds more adventure of the extreme with a crossing of the Atlantic out of relay to three on board a board of rescue. With knees, with the force of the arms, they are joined the island of Cape Breton in CapBreton in 53 days. It is well the exploit of the month !

689 votes made the SeaSailsurfers of 2010. The male winner is Thomas Ruyant, winner of the Route du Rhum in Class40. He did it one year after his win in the solo Transat 650. And he is so popular he wins the title of SeaSailSurfer of the year ahead of the funboarder Antoine Albeau (Sailor of the year for the french federation) and ahead of (…)
Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
Don’t you have a feeling of dejà-vu ? Thomas Ruyant, hands up, with his fetish hat, arriving as a winner in a solo race ? Transat 650 2009 ? Yes. One yer after his win in the Mini-Transat, he has won the Route du Rhum. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.
On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…)
Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Chapeau bas messieurs…
One day hove to. Two days beating into a nasty head sea. Orange has paid dearly for the right to take on the fearsome southern latitudes. At twenty knots on a sea that is once again manageable Peyron and his boys are all smiles at last. The very deep low that is moving away ahead of their bows is opening the door to the south. The great (…)
On the first night of racing during leg five of the Volvo Ocean Race from Rio de Janeiro to Miami, a collision occurred between SEB, skippered by Swede, Gunnar Krantz, and illbruck, skippered by American John Kostecki.

It’s been days since they’ve had anything like a normal day... And that is exactly what is happening right now on the maxi-catamaran Orange. "It’s true that it does one good finding a sea in harmony with the wind", said Bruno Peyron with a tinny voice during today’s chat session. "We have picked up a WNW wind as forecast and have at last found (…)
