Tanguy de Lamotte belongs to those who believed in Class40 from the beginning. He is rewarded for his efforts since he won, with Adrien Hardy, the first edition of the Solidaire du Chocolat.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Barcelona-born sailor Albert Bargués and French yachtswoman Servane Escoffier sailed into home waters this morning at 06:55:02 GMT to finish the Barcelona World Race in 5th place, after an epic 108 days 18 hours, 55 minutes and 2 seconds, sailing a total distance of 27,892 miles at an average speed of 9.45 knots !

Le trimaran géant Groupama 3 a chaviré à 80 milles de la Nouvelle Zélande à mi-parcours de son record autour du monde à la voile. Voici la vidéo enregistrée par Jacques Caraës et ses équipiers peu après le retournement du bateau et avant qu’ils ne soient récupérés par la marine néo-zélandaise.

Whilst sailing off New Zealand, Groupama 3 capsized following the breakage of
her port float. The ten men were very quickly airlifted via helicopter by the
New Zealand rescue services and taken to Dunedin (South Island). They will do
everything they can to salvage the trimaran once the conditions on zone have
improved.

Alors qu’il naviguait au large de la Nouvelle Zélande, Groupama 3 a chaviré suite à la rupture du flotteur bâbord. Les dix hommes ont été très rapidement hélitreuillés par les secours néo-zélandais et rapatriés à Dunedin (île du Sud). Ils mettent désormais tout en œuvre pour récupérer Groupama 3 dès que les conditions sur zone s’amélioreront.
