For the second year, Portugese skipper Francisco Lobato is the SeaSailSurfer of the year. French 20’ cat offshore sailors Lequin and Moreau did thier best from their website but Lobato’ suporters were the best to promote the vote and they made their favorite skipper win the SeaSailSurf of 2009 title.

2009 Papaerboard Surf for RAK
The Paperboard surf this year goes to Ras Al Kaimah as the city was not able to organise the America’s Cup. Second is Jean Le Cam for his two capsizes in the Vendée Globe (60’ monohull) and at the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre ’50’ multihull).

Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…)

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Yannick a volé la vedette à Brian, à seulement quelques milles de l’arrivée qu’il coupe en vainqueur avec 27 minutes d’avance sur son homologue Anglais. Qui l’eut cru ? Pas Yannick en tout cas. « J’étais persuadé que Brian était déjà arrivé », lance le skipper, « je suis sur le cul ! ».

Sébastien Magnen réalise le doublé. La première étape est mouvementée avec le passage d’une forte tempête dans le golfe de Gascogne. Neuf skippers sont hélitreuillés. De nombreux marins font escale en Espagne. A noter lors de cette dernière Mini-Transat vers les Antilles, la création d’une division série remportée par le constructeur du Pogo. (…)

Gros coup de tabac sur la première étape. Celle-ci est annulée. Il est demandé aux skippers de rentrer au port. Thierry Dubois parvient quand même à la terminer et remporte ensuite la deuxième étape.
