It is full of hulls in Lorient, named "Lorient’ Geles" by some people here so proud to live in Lorient… One who are happy to live here are the offshore racing skippers and shore teams.
Yesterday, in the port of Keroman, a past submarine base of WW2, there was hulls everywhere.
From South to North :
– Groupama 4 ( Franck Cammas ’ new VOR)
– Groupama 70 (the old VOR, ex-Ericsson 4)
– Prince de Bretagne ( Lionel Lemonchois’ Multi50)
– Groupama 3 (Jules Verne Trophy holder)
– Race For Water ( Stève Ravussin’s new MOD70)
– Sensation Ocean (an old ORMA for rent)
– Banque Populaire V (North Atlantic and 24h records holder)
– Groupama 2 (old ORMA - 60’)
– JPK54 ( Jean-Pierre Dick’s cruising yacht)
– and many Class40 and minis.
On shore shore, there are the old 60’ Banque Populaire, the new IMOCA Banque Populaire (ex-Foncia), and the Oman AIr to be rebuilt in a shipyard...
