Coville crosses the Atlantic in 5 days 19 hours
Setting out from New York 5 days earlier, the French sailor Thomas Coville, the skipper of the trimaran Sodeb’O, beat the legendary solo North Atlantic record under sail on Tuesday 15th July at 07 hours, 17 minutes and 20 seconds; a record held since 2005 by Francis Joyon. -

ICAP Leopard sets new record in 7 days 19 hours
ICAP Leopard, the 100 foot super maxi yacht owned by Mike Slade, this evening broke the Transatlantic speed record held by luxury yacht Phocea. Franck Cammas : "we capsized in the space of ten seconds"
Whilst sailing off New Zealand, Groupama 3 capsized following the breakage of her port float. The ten men were very quickly airlifted via helicopter by the New Zealand rescue services and taken to Dunedin (South Island). They will do everything they can to salvage the trimaran once the conditions on zone have improved. -

Joyon 14 days faster than MacArthur around the World
Francis Joyon and his 30m long trimaran Idec 2 have crossed the finishing line of the round the world record on Saturday January 19th at 23h39’58’’ GMT after 57 days and 13 hours. Fedor Konyukhov around Antarctica
After leaving Falmouth, UK on October 12 bound for Albany, Western Australia and the start of his record chasing attempt around Antarctica, Russian sailor Fedor Konyukhov has found the NE Trade winds and is heading south towards his next challenge – the Doldrums.
