For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.
She has won the first leg of the 2007 Mini-Transat : Who can beat Isabelle Joschke ? The answer will come in Bahia at the end of the second leg. But during the first one, no one could sail faster. She won this leg one from La Rochelle to Funchal in Madeira and she is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

This year, Isabelle and her Finot-Coq prototype mini has won two races. She let the others to Le Blévec, Laureyssens and Caracci. But in the first leg, she was the best ! She took the lead at the end of the first day before perfectly rounding cape Finisterra. Then she sailed uneder the direct route to get more wind and more speed. She finished in Funchal 4h20 ahead of Manuard, 5h15 ahead of Le Blévec and 10 hours ahead of Deshayes. Well done ! Now she has to control her competitors in the long second leg toward Brazil. To be the first woman to win the Mini-Transat and to enter in the small list of women to have won a solo transtlantic race.
689 votes made the SeaSailsurfers of 2010. The male winner is Thomas Ruyant, winner of the Route du Rhum in Class40. He did it one year after his win in the solo Transat 650. Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

When he brought the giant 31m trimaran Groupama 3 across the finish line off Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe today (Tuesday)under perfect sunshine and light breezes Franck Cammas (FRA) won the 9th edition of the Route du Rhum - La Banque Postale, the 3542 miles transatlantic race from Saint Malo for solo skippers which takes place every four years.
En passant la ligne d’arrivée en Guadeloupe à 16 heures 16 minutes 47 secondes (heure de Paris), Franck Cammas a remporté la neuvième Route du Rhum - La Banque Postale.
Apres un samedi où seule une funny race a été lancée du fait d’un vent qui avait décidé de lézarder, la journée de dimanche a bénéficié quant à elle de belles conditions. Un vent de nord- ouest est monté franchement aux alentours de quinze nœuds.
At 0100hrs (CET) this morning (Monday) Yves le Blevec, skipper of the Multi 50 Actual informed his team and the Route du Rhum-La Banque Postale race director that the trimaran has sustained damage to the forward starboard cross beam. Le Blevec has lowered the mainsail of Actual and is sailing under ORC headsail in 20 knots of SE’ly wind.
Au 8e jour de course, le Multi50 Actual d’Yves le Blevec est victime d’une avarie. C’est à 1200 milles de Pointe à Pitre et alors que le trimaran rouge et vert était pointé en tête et avait réduit la voilure quelques heures auparavant que cette avarie est survenue. Cet après midi à 15h30, l’étrave de la coque centrale de Crêpes Whaou ! s’est brisée juste en avant de la cadène de solent (en avant du balcon avant) sous l’effet d’un choc avec un objet flottant non identifié ou de la pression des vagues alors que Franck-Yves naviguait sous grand-voile à 2 ris et ORC.
