On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
January 2008’ SeaSailSurfer : Francis Joyon
New record holder around the world : The man of the month has done an increadible round the world sailing. Francis Joyon has beatten Ellen MacArthur’s previous record by 14 days, coming back to Brest in 57 days and 13 hours.
Francis Joyon is the only sailor in the world able to sail during 26,000 nautic miles at the average speed of 19 knots. At the helm of his 30m long trimaran, Idec 2, he broke the greatest of the solo records getting back to himself Dame Ellen’s trophy. More… by sailing around the world in 57 days, he made the second best performance of the times as only Orange 2 and Bruno Peyron’s Crew were able to do better in lesss than 51 days.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Leading the Vendée Globe, Michel Desjoyeaux on his 60 foot monohull FONCIA rounded Cape Horn (Chile) at 0310 UT this Monday 5th January. As such Michel has taken 56 days 15 hours and 08 minutes to reach Cape Horn and round the last of the great capes to be left to port after that of Good Hope (South Africa) and Leeuwin (Australia). -

Le 3 décembre, Michel Desjoyeaux faisait son entrée dans le top ten après une course poursuite de trois semaines suite à son retour aux Sables d’Olonne peu de temps après le départ du tour du monde. Fin décembre, le Professeur est en tête. C’est l’homme du mois ! -
