From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of november 2008 : Sam Davies
Brit skipper of Roxy in the Vendée Globe : Who could be the SeaSailSurfer of november ? Torben Grael who won two legs in the Volvo Ocean Race. Or Loick Peyon and Seb Josse, the two front runners of the Vendée Globe. Or Sam Davies, one of their only two female competitors in the single handed round the world race ?
Offshore racing need numerous skills including boat timming, navigations, tactics, seamanship. But one necessary talent is good habilities in communication. And during the first weeks of the Vendée Globe, Sam Davis showed great abalities to take photos of her trip aournd the word. She has been able to make images of her 60’ monohull, Roxy, which won the two previous editions with Michel Desjoyeaux and Vincent Riou at her helm. She also been able to photograph herself even during bad and good days. Her photo only dressed with a bikini has already made the round the world. And the 3 Brit is now going to do the same by herself. She is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…) -

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Le monocoque DCNS 1000 a démâté ce matin à 7h31 (heure française) dans une mer très formée dans laquelle le bateau était extrêmement chahuté. Marc Thiercelin n’est pas en danger. -

Michel Desjoyeaux sur son monocoque 60 pieds FONCIA a rallié les Sables d’Olonne ce mardi 11 novembre 2008 à 00h40 (heure française) malgré les conditions difficiles d’entrée dans le port. -

Bestaven et de Pavant cassent leurs mâts
Après Wavre (vite reparti) puis Stamm (déjà arrivé), ce sont Desjoyeaux, Dejeanty et Hatfield qui sont attendus aux Sables d’Olonne. Si, pour ces concurrents la course n’est pas finie puisqu’ils se revenus au point de départ, c’est plus compromis pour Yannick Bestaven et Kito de Pavant qui ont cassé leurs espars. -

Francis Joyon, skipper du maxi trimaran IDEC a franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la Route de la Découverte à San Salvador aux Bahamas, aujourd’hui à 02 heures, 06 minutes TU (soit 03 heures, 06 minutes - heure française). Avec un temps de course de 9 jours, 20 heures, 35 minutes, il établi un nouveau record en solitaire sur les 3 885 milles (…)
