On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of June 2008 : Pierre-Yves Lautrou
Journalist, sailor and winner of the Mini-Fastnet ! Journalist at « L’Express », blogger for « Au Large » and, from this month of June, winner of the famous two-handed Mini-Fastnet (with Stevan Urien), Pierre-Yves Lautrou, know as « PYL », is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.
In 2001, Pierre-Yves Lautrou, 35 yo, entered in the Mini-Transat in the serie division, the one-design one. From 2004, he is also of the first members of the AOS sailing base in Lorient. During the week he works as journalist for the weekly “L’Express” and on the weekends, he takes the train to join Brittany for training sessions or competitions in the 6.50 circuit. This month, he won the two-handed classic, the Mini-Fastnet. And this summer, he will compete in the solo Les Sables – Les Açores – Les Sables. PYL est the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Pour la 23e édition de l’Eurocat, près de 300 bateaux se sont rassemblés au Yacht Club de Carnac dans l’une des plus belles baies du monde : la baie de Quiberon. Durant trois jours, les coureurs se sont affrontés, garantissant un superbe spectacle.

Les monocoques 40 et 60 pieds ont couru aujourd’hui leur dernière régate avec, comme hier, un parcours côtier. Le spectacle qu’offrent les 60 et 40 pieds en baie de Douarnenez est presque insolite, tant ils semblent ‘crever l’écran’ lorsqu’ils évoluent entre ciel et terre.

Today saw further racing in the fourth day of the Grand Prix Petit Navire with the grand entrance of the Dragons, the event’s most loyal protagonists over its 10 year history. The 40 and 60 foot monohulls sailed their last race today with a coastal course reminiscent of yesterday’s, but with added pizzazz !

Mais l’inoxidable « géant vert » du circuit Figaro-Bénéteau a aussi un fidèle équiper de Bertrand Pacé, a été classé 7e mondial de match-racing (en 1994) et a participé à la Coupe de l’America dans l’équipe de Marc Pajot. Thomas Ruyant, skipper du voilier « Faber France » a remporté la Pornichet Select 6.50 aujourd’hui à 12h04 avec 59 minutes d’avance sur Henry-Paul Shipman. Le navigateur dunkerquois et son prototype de 6m50 réalisent un quasi sans-faute sur cette course longue de 300 milles.
