Tanguy de Lamotte belongs to those who believed in Class40 from the beginning. He is rewarded for his efforts since he won, with Adrien Hardy, the first edition of the Solidaire du Chocolat.
SeaSailSurfer of April 2009 : Gildas Morvan
Winner of the solo Transat BPE. One do not remember than Gildas Morvan, the giant skipper of the Figaro circuit is also a match-racer. He has competed with Bertrand Pacé, was 7th in the world rakings in 1994 and took part in the America’s Cup in Marc Pajot’s crew. By winning the Transat BPE , he is the SeaSailSurfer of the month.
« My experience with Marc Pajot for the America’s Cup and in the Soling class helped me a lot. I kew the race would finish in a close neck. And I had this plus against the others… And this was helpfull in the close final match with Erwan. I knew what I had to do to control him, I was not lost… It helped me a lot, for sure » saif Gildas after his arriving in Marie-Galante.
Finaly, the Breton skipper takes the win for 4 minutes and 4 seconds. So bad for Erwan Tabarly who looks for a great win.

Thomas Ruyant is the SeaSailSurfer of 2010
689 votes made the SeaSailsurfers of 2010. The male winner is Thomas Ruyant, winner of the Route du Rhum in Class40. He did it one year after his win in the solo Transat 650. And he is so popular he wins the title of SeaSailSurfer of the year ahead of the funboarder Antoine Albeau (Sailor of the year for the french federation) and ahead of (…) -

Jeremy Flores has won the Billabong Pipe Master, the last event of the 2010 ASP World Tour. Defaiting Kelly Slater in the semis, is the first European surfer to win this great event, the first french to win an event in the ASP circuit. He is the SeaSailSurfer of December. -

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…) -

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

After a disappointing performance in the Volvo Ocean Race, skipper of seventh placed djuice, Knut Frostad, has decided to make radical changes on board in an effort to boost the team’s performance for the remaining two legs. French navigator, Jean-Yves Bernot, will step down and Erle Williams will return to the team. -

Tous d’un commun accord sont venus coller la côte espagnole pour se mettre un peu à l’abri de cette mer que l’on annonce forte aux abords du Cap Finisterre. Tiscali Global Challenge continue son « one boat show » et pointe 3,3 milles en tête de la flotte suivi de Sill Plein Fruit et de Bobst Group-Armor Lux. Cela commence à taper fort et tous (…) -

24 sur 24 à Saint Barthélemy
Saint Barthélemy, le 12 mai 2002. Le dernier concurrent de la sixième Transat AG2R vient de franchir la ligne d’arrivée à Saint Barthélemy. Hacène Abbar & Jean-Claude Hervy à bord de BDS (Bar des Sports) ont ainsi donné le clap de fin de la course dont la remise des prix aura lieu le 14 mai prochain. -

Le bateau italien Tiscali Global Challenge de Simone Bianchetti mène la course depuis le départ de la Regata Rubicón. Mais à l’approche du Cap Finisterre – que les concurrents devraient atteindre dans la nuit de dimanche à lundi – les conditions météo moins difficiles que prévues vont néanmoins mettre à rude épreuve bateaux et équipages. L’Institution de St Malo meilleur des lycées !
Le Trophée des Lycées édition 2002 a vécu aujourd’hui sa dernière journée sous un soleil radieux… Petit revers de la médaille, au départ de l’ultime manche courue en milieu de journée, le vent était plus que léger (4 nœuds annoncés au départ). Il a heureusement forci durant la manche. -

Presti et l’équipe du défi Français finalistes en Italie
Après avoir remporté les rounds robins qualificatifs pour la finale, avec 8 victoires sur 15 matchs, l’équipage français du DEFI AREVA engagé dans la Elba Cup, s’est incliné en trois matchs contre l’américain Ed Baird. Bien sur, un peu de déception sur le résultat final mais beaucoup de positif à tirer de cette semaine de régates. -

L’Italien Bianchetti ouvre la route du Rubicon
L’italien Simone Bianchetti mène le bal depuis hier après-midi devant le français Roland Jourdain (Sill Plein Fruit) et le suisse Bernard Stamm (Bobst Group-Armor Lux). Une journée haute en couleurs !
Au programme de cette belle journée ensoleillée, 2 manches attendaient les 73 équipages lycéens. La première manche de type banane a été disputée en matinée dans le petit temps. Ces conditions ont permis à tous de se préparer au mieux au départ et de former ainsi une ligne de départ magnifique digne des plus grandes régates internationales.
