For the first time in the ASP World tour, a rookie has won the championship. Stephanie Gilmore, 19 yo, wins the 2007 ranking ahead of Peruvian Sofia Mulanovich and Silvana Lima from Brazil.

Sailing a 20’ sport cat from Canaria to Guadeloupe in 14 days

Italian sailor Matteo Micelli has accomplished a great record by crossing the Atlantic alone, on a 20’ sport cat, in only 14 days, 17 hours and 52 seconds. He is the SeaSailSurfer of January 2007.
Aboard his 20’ prototype catamaran Micelli has been twice faster than the previous record ! Arrived on January 13 in Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), he has realized a time that will be hard to break.

August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Jeux Paralympiques : La voile a été évincée de Tokyo 2020
La nouvelle a pris tout le monde de court. L’International Paralympic Committee (équivalent du CIO) a annoncé en début de semaine que la voile ne serait pas présente aux Jeux Paralympiques de Tokyo 2020. Si rien n’est fait, l’olympiade actuelle est donc la dernière pour les trois supports de voile paralympique que sont le 2.4, le Sonar et le Skud. -

Henri Marcelet succède à son frère Julien à la barre du mini 737
Le 19 septembre prochain, Henri Marcelet prendra le départ de la Mini Transat, traversée de l’Atlantique en solitaire et sans assistance, entre Douarnenez et Pointe-à-Pitre via Lanzarote aux Canaries. Le jeune nordiste, originaire du Pas-de-Calais, a pris la suite de son frère, Julien, à bord du voilier « Hissons les Voiles en Nord-Pas-de-Calais ».
