From last to 1st in the Vendée Globe

On December 3rd, Michel Desjoyeaux wasback in the top 10 of the Vendée Globe, 3 weeks after his second start from Les Sables d’Olonne. At the end of the month, he is the leader. Mich’Desj is the SeaSailSurfer of December.
SeaSailSurfer of August 2008 : Julien Bontemps
Silver medallist in the RX :X Class at Qingdao Olympics : French boardsailor came in 2004 to the olympic Games with the world title in the pocket. But hi missed his regatta and finished 9th in Athens. Four years after, he got his ticket again to compete in Qingdao and came back to France with the Silver medal.
« A silver medal in the Olympic Games is greatest than any world title » said 29 yo RS :X boardsailor. « The feeling is so great than it is extraordinay to go and sail for a medal what ever is its color. This represents so much work… and I don’t think I will stop after that. Olympics is so great ! ». Now Bontemps has taken Faustine Merret’s place as leader of the French olympic team. And he has work to do to compter the Brits in 2012…

On said kitesurfing is not sailing. Other said the Luderitz Speed Challenge’ spot is not deep enough. But the channel in Namibia is a fixed place with 500 meters marks and is more than 80 cm deep. When kitesurfers and windsurfers sail there, there are truly in the spirit of the original Weymouth and Brest Speed Weekds. Their records are not (…) -

Russell Coutts, the boss of the american Defender, BMW Oracle Racing, has made younger the older sport trophy of the world. As the competition will be sailed aboard wingsailed catamarans, he made the trophy, and sport sailing competition, entering the third millenary. He is the SeaSailSurfer of the month. -

SeaSailSurfer of August 2010 : Bertrand Delesne
August 2010 was rich in events and performances. Many SeaSailSurfers made great performances. We will however retain Bertrand Delesne’s run in the second leg of race to the Azores. On his mini, he covered 304,90 miles in 24 hours. He is SeaSailSurfer of the month !

Près de 150 équipages à Lorient ce week-end
Ce week-end, du 20 au 22 Septembre, aura lieu la troisième édition de l’Atlantique Télégramme. Avec 58 bateaux lors de la première édition en 2000, 90 en 2001, et 150 attendus pour ce week-end (soit un millier de personnes sur l’eau), le concept inhabituel de l’épreuve semble plaire ! -

Pour la seconde journée de cette étape de la coupe du monde de kitesurf en France, le soleil est au rendez-vous. La journée de dimanche a marqué le début de la compétition avec les qualifications. C ?est avec le thermique que la compétition est lancée. 8 riders se sont lancés pour gagner les 4 places attribués pour rentrer dans le tour (…) -

Pour la dernière journée de cette seconde demi-finale du National Kitesurf Tour, championnat de France de Kitesurf 2002 qui vient de dérouler à Urville-Nacqueville près de Cherbourg. Le vent est toujours au rendez-vous, en effet pendant 4 jours le vent à souffler à près de 25 noeuds ce qui a permis de courir une triple élimination. Une première (…) -

New York Harbor was transformed from a commercial port into a spectacular venue for the start of Around Alone 2002-03. From early in the morning, all the Open class yachts were towed off the pontoons of the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum, where they had been docked for two days after the Prologue race from Newport, RI. -

Incontestablement Albeau est le Maître du Funboard français et il tient à le rester. Il a fait sur ce premier Championnat de France de Formula Windsurfing à Brest, une démonstration de régularité dans le plus haut niveau quelles que soient les conditions de vent ?. "Chapeau bas, Monsieur Albeau". -

Jean-Luc Nélias vainqueur à Fécamp
image 400 x 200En raison des conditions météo musclées, toutes les manches de dimanche ont été annulées. Après deux jours de régate dans la brise et un quasi-sans faute du trimaran belge, Jean-Luc Nélias (Belgacom) remporte ainsi son premier Grand Prix.
